Corridor Rehabilitation Feasibility Study

After a devastating flood, how do you put a railroad back together again?

In 2026, LMRS is helping a client get their railroad back on track through with help in the following areas.

  • Complex infrastructure projects don’t happen by chance, they are the products of prior planning. LMRS helped the client carefully analyze the scope of a project, such as its geographic limit, the specific structures affected, and identification of local stakeholders.

  • Preliminary estimates are critical to the development of a project. Without knowing what work is needed, and how much it could cost, a project simply can’t advance. LMRS helped the client understand which work would require additional engineering, design, and regulatory work before repairs could occur.

  • Grants are work, no way around it. It’s simply untrue that any grant program will hand a project money with no strings attached. LMRS helped the client understand which grants are appropriate, and what their requirements are to determine how to move forward

  • Some grants involve a Benefit-Cost Analysis, or BCA. There are many ways to perform BCA for an infrastructure project, however, rail projects present a unique sent of challenges and advantages on a traditional BCA. LMRS worked with the client to understanding the business model and the likely outcomes of the project, which are keys to BCA success.
